If you follow the rules outlined here, submitting your work to Imaginate will be easy. You can submit at any time; we’ll let you know what issue your submission will be published on or if it will be posted online.
How to submit:
1. Fill out the contact form at the bottom of this page. Use this option only for basic text submissions that don’t require any additional formatting.
2. Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Use this option for everything else.
Prose & Poetry: Please send your submissions as an attached Google Doc, .pdf, or .docx file. Other filetypes may be accepted, but the ones listed hold priority. If you have any special requests for font, style, and / or color, include that in your email. For the most part, we will print and publish the work as formatted.
Artwork: Please send your submissions as attached .jpg, .png, or .jpeg files. We much prefer scans over photographs for print artwork. If you can’t scan your artwork (if it’s not print / digital or you don’t have the original anymore), include that in your email.
Audio Recordings: Please send your submissions as a .wav or .mp3 files. Other filetypes may be accepted, but the ones listed hold priority. If you are recording a piece that hasn’t yet been published by us, we would prefer to publish the written work with the file so the readers/listeners can follow the words and songs. If you don’t want us to publish the written work, include that in your email.
Video: Please send your submissions as YouTube-compatible files.
Theme of the Month: Please specify your submission’s adherence to the Theme of the Month and submit it by the deadline. If you can’t find the deadline on social media or this website, contact us and we will inform you of the deadline (and whether it has passed or not).
If you have any questions, fill out the contact form below. We’ll get back to you as fast as our student selves can. We can’t wait to see what you have in store for us!
