The Rebirth of Darkaidia

From the shallow streams,

lying in ash,

I am renewed

I rise from the darkest of rivers

No shark can tempt me.

I stole his gills for my music box

And fashioned his skinned carcass

into a leather gown.

No barracuda can control me.

His fangs became my necklace

And his body my boots.

No killer whale can kill like me.

Don’t bother asking his pod

how kind fate treated them.

Inside my damp tomb,

I claw my way back from the depressed depths

where no spiders cling

no beetles cringe

or crickets sing.

My soul lies in Tartarus.

My insides revamp

I am colder than a sluggish clam

My heart never shall beat

in irregular tone

But never fear, your queen

Darkaidia, has returned.

Call me your Empress.

Kiss my skeleton feet

Kneel in my presence

Present me with your unborn

Behold the future you thought abandoned

Creatures of the night, embrace me.

Zombies rip their brains out of their hollow heads

Vampires stop suckling human blood

Harpies lose their shrill voice at my sight

Cerberus has but one head left.

Where I walk, red hibiscus coil away,

Morning glories mourn my return

But you shall not live beyond the year

Remember the darkness

The cold creeps through your bones

like a venomous viper

stealing your zen

spiriting your song to a netherworld.

Life disappears as the end approaches

blood stops boiling, fluids harden

and the nightingale pitches a warning tale

Look to the orange moon

hanging against the onyx sky

where the stars are on fire

and the last lightning bolt torches the world

Laughter has become a war cry

Tears are soap

Boulders are a crypt

You have found your new nightmare.

Excited that Darkaidia is well received. Will be composing more. Look into the first part, “Birth of Darkaidia.”
